This bug spray was first created for one of my aromatherapy case studies for class. The response was all positive that I never felt the need to tweak it.
I personally used this on my kids when I was visiting family back in Massachusetts a few years back. It was a horrible tick season the year I visited. I sprayed both my kids down, and after they return from a run in the woods with their cousins, they were the ONLY kids with zero ticks and zero mosquito bites.
Then most recently a friend took this spray on her visit to Lake of the Ozarks. She said it worked better than expected. They have chiggers there, and this blend worked to keep them away as well.
Directions: Shake before each use. Spray on skin, clothes, and/or hair. Use as needed. Avoid face and genital areas. The best use for kids would be to spray on their clothes if you are not sure if their skin will be sensitive to the spray or not.

- Ingredients: *Lavandula x intermedia (Lavandin) Distillate, *Juniperus virginiana (Cedarwood) Essential Oil, *Juniperus communis (Juniper berry) Essential Oil, *Pogostemon cablin (Patchouli) Essential Oil, *Cymbopogon citratus (Lemongrass) Essential Oil, *Ocimum basilicum ct Linalool (Sweet Basil) Essential Oil, *Mentha x piperita (Peppermint) Essential Oil.
Kids Blend:
- Ingredients: *Lavandula x intermedia (Lavandin) Distillate, *Juniperus virginiana (Cedarwood) Essential Oil, *Juniperus communis (Juniper berry) Essential Oil, *Pogostemon cablin (Patchouli) Essential Oil, *Cymbopogon citratus (Lemongrass) Essential Oil, *Ocimum basilicum ct Linalool (Sweet Basil) Essential Oil, *Mentha spicata (Spearmint) Essential Oil.
*Organic
Safety: No safety concerns. Both blends are Pregnancy & Breastfeeding safe. Peppermint essential oil may slow down milk supply in some women. If that is a concern, use the "kids blend" one with spearmint instead. If it is skin irritating, discontinue.
Natural Bug Spray
This bug spray is in a 2 oz PET plastic spray bottle. PET plastic prevents ingredients, such as essential oils from leaching the plastic.
Since this has hydrosol, a water based product, keep in a cool dry place, the refrigerator, or the cooler (off the ice) when you are out in the heat.
