Is it really a New Year, New YOU?

Updated: Sep 26, 2021

I already see the emails come out to initiate the New Year, New You slogan.

But what does that mean? Why do people make New Year’s resolutions anyway?

Could it be that it forces you to make that declaration to help you take a step in the direction? Or a path you want or trying to get on.

Could it be that it helps us pause and reflect on what that past year has brought us?

Or, could it be that it motivates us to be the best version of ourselves that we can be.

What is wrong with a New Year, SAME YOU? Do we need the added pressure of a completely NEW you?

So, Why not all of the above continually? If you have always been taking steps in the right direction, and still reflecting in the past to see how far you have come, and are always motivated to be the best version of yourself, then don’t celebrate this coming year as a NEW YOU! Celebrate the SAME YOU!

What does this have to do with wellness? It is mental wellness. The year 2020 has not been kind, and we need to make sure we are kind to ourselves.

This is one of the many the reason I am starting this Blog entry BEFORE the New Year. There is nothing “new” about it. I like to think of this as the Christmas present I gave to myself for the many years of hard work developing my knowledge in aromatherapy and herbalism. I have been writing many things down about aromatherapy and herbalism, and those areas always seem to come around to mental wellness or some type of self care. Now is the time to reflect and share all I have learned this year in my holistic craft to help others.

I also came up with a title for my Blog! Not sure if the title will evolve into something different, but for now, the Blog title is Wicked Good Wellness Blog. If you read my most recent Blog entry, you know I will mostly be sharing aromatherapy and herbalism things. Having wellness in the title, this is something I can go off track and expand upon. Wellness has such a vast umbrella of writing opportunities, with a connection to aromatherapy and herbalism.

Thank you for reading!

Love and Nature,

Nicole
